Our Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Deana J. Reed has been an ordained minister in the PCUSA since 1987. She has served churches in Northern California, Washington D.C. and Virginia. A graduate of San Francisco Theological Seminary in Marin County, Deana completed both a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry program at SFTS. She also was an Adjunct Faculty Member at SFTS for a decade, facilitating integrative classes for entering students and seniors in the course of their seminary training.
Beyond the weekly tasks of serving a local congregation, Deana has always been involved in the larger church, including serving as Moderator of the Presbytery of the Redwoods and on Committees of the Presbytery. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Covenant Network of Presbyterians. She also serves on the board of Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center in South Lake Tahoe.
Community service has included working with leaders in the community who advocate for the inclusion, rights and needs of marginalized people in the community including outreach to: homeless singles and families (housing and meals); abused women and their children; gay and lesbians and their families.
Deana loves serving as a pastor to a group of people who are present with one another and searching to know God more and more and recognize the grace of God’s love and abundant hospitality for all people.
A native Oregonian who completed a B.S. in the School of Forestry (OSU) and graduate work in Deaf Education (WOU), Deana brings a blend of theology of God’s Creation, hospitality and education to her pastoral ministry.
She has recently completed a program of study with a Benedictine Community in Indianapolis, Indiana along with 19 other Protestant Clergywomen (through the Lily Endowment) and will continue fostering the practices learned and honed here.
